Philanthropic Projects
One of our commitments to our community is to participate in various philanthropic projects. These activities may take place at our monthly meetings, or they may be events out in the community at a separate time. We are always looking for more ways to support our community, so the list below is always growing.
Current Philanthropic Activities
Offer Twins, Triples, or More? Education Class to share wisdom, answer questions, and provide emotional support for individuals expecting multiples.
Make and donate fleece blankets for NICU patients.
Host a "More to Love" Baby Shower for new and expecting parents of multiples.
Adopt 1-2 families (preference given to a families of multiples) for Christmas, purchasing items they are in need of and food pantry items.
Provide meals and other support to members of DMMOM who are in need.
Adoption of Kida, the cotton-topped tamarin at the Blank Park Zoo, who had her SECOND set of twins on February 18, 2025. Her first set of twins, Caitlin and Clark, were born on February 22, 2024.
Previous Philanthropic Activities
With the Walmart Community Grant, we have donated freezer meals, new slow cookers, and care packages to families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mercy Medical Center and Blank Children's Hospital.
Decorated a tree for the Festival of Trees and Lights to support Blank Children's Hospital.
Provided new backpacks and school supplies to foster children in the Des Moines area.
